The more I read from this author, the more I like him. I know he is enormously popular but sometimes that doesn’t take much except a well paid publicity machine – I don’t think I really need to give any examples here – you know what I mean. Jack Reacher is career army and finds himself on duty New Year’s Eve after recently being transferred back to the States from Panama. He doesn’t question the move, just doesn’t understand it. Nemesis By Jo Nesbo
Another Scandinavian author here but another good one. Detective Harry Hole (maybe the name isn’t so obnoxious in Norway) is a non-recovering drunk. He goes through periods of time where he abstains but is not really interested in changing his lifestyle. Death of Riley By Rhys Bowen
The Molly Murphy mysteries are a charming collection of stories set in New York. Ms. Murphy has recently landed in the states after a harrowing journey from Ireland only to find herself needing to get a job. She is not good at taking orders or subjecting herself to the whims of others and thus is having a hard time finding a position. Continue reading “Death of Riley By Rhys Bowen”

Her girlfriend who is none too bright doesn’t get the tone of her friend’s monologue and assumes it is all true. Continue reading “Easy A – Movie Review”
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo – Movie Review
A Swedish movie and so therefore subtitled. This is a marvelous production and covered most of the main story lines in the book. Once you get into the swing of reading the lines, unless you are conversant in Swedish, you can settle in and enjoy the show. Continue reading “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo – Movie Review”
