When Harry falls in love with a young and exciting girl he realizes he can’t divorce his devoted wife so he decides he must kill her. Harry’s best friend Richard decides he also wants the lovely mistress. This movie is beautifully acted but way too slow moving without enough suspense or intrigue. It is definitely not for those with short attention spans. Set in the late 1940s the clothing and cars are quite charming and add to the atmosphere but I believe still doesn’t quite make it. Real people don’t float around so much with such stilted conversation and pregnant pauses. A film noir without enough noir in my opinion.
